Seeking Candidates in General Urology and Robotic Surgery
Urology Clinic of Winchester (UCoW) is the largest Urology practice in the northern Shenandoah Valley, providing care to the community since 1985. The Clinic is seeking both general and robotic urologists to join their private practice in Winchester, Virginia. The ideal robotic candidate will have the background and interest to lead the development of a robotic surgery program for the practice.
Winchester, Virginia is situated at the northernmost tip of the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia, nestled between the Allegheny Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains, approximately 1.5 hours from Washington, DC. With easy access to the Appalachian Trail, George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah River and Skyline Drive, the region is a paradise for outdoor lovers. The City of Winchester features a historic Old Town and the area is rich in Civil War historical sites. Winchester is home to Shenandoah University, a comprehensive liberal arts university with 90 degree programs. Winchester was chosen as one the best places to retire by AARP magazine, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, and Where to Retire magazine, with a strong local economy and vibrant cultural scene.
The practice includes four urologists and two mid-level providers, and they are seeking to grow into a practice of seven to eight surgeons. UCoW has its main clinic location one block from Winchester Medical Center, and has two satellite offices in the region. The group is seeking to expand to meet the increased patient demands generated by the growing regional population with demographic changes requiring more urologic services, and expand clinical service offerings such as robotic care that are currently not available locally. The group’s primary service area covers over 100,000 people and the greater market area consists of 460,000 people. The practice shares call evenly. New associates may be eligible for partnership in one year.
Urology Clinic of Winchester physicians are affiliated with Winchester Medical Center (WMC), an award-winning 460-bed regional destination center offering a broad spectrum of services that includes diagnostic, medical, surgical and rehabilitative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2015, WMC opened a new $26 million Cancer Center, which includes two state-of-
the-art linear accelerators. The hospital has a strong interventional radiology service, intensivists with eICU, and patients benefit from multiple strong clinical service lines. In 2016, Winchester Medical Center installed a daVinci Xi robot with integrated surgical table.

In addition, Winchester Medical Center is involved with advanced research including studies on low-risk Transcather Aortic Valve Repair (TAVR) and bio-degradable coronary stents.
